Compliance Director Roger Rumbaugh Invited to Speak on RESPA at MBAC Conference


Columbia, SC
– February 16, 2010 – Roger Rumbaugh was invited to speak at the Mortgage Bankers Association’s ABC’s of Mortgage Lending Education Conference on March 7th in Myrtle Beach, SC. In this morning session, Mr. Rumbaugh will speak on RESPA and implementing Regulation X.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has issues final regulations implementing changes to their Regulation X, which implements The Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA). This program will cover such topics as:

• the types of transactions covered by Regulation X
• the Servicing Transfer Disclosure
• the revised and expanded Good Faith Estimate of Settlement Costs (GFE)
• fees charged to applicants for covered transactions
• fee change restrictions, and tolerances, categories, and reimbursement provisions
• the Settlement Cost Guide Booklet
• amended HUD-1 and 1A Settlement Statements and revised instructions
• escrow rules

Mortgage lending professionals will be in attendance to hear Mr. Rumbaugh speak on RESPA as part of this 4-day program. Other activities will include a 20-hour PE course, an 8-hour CE course, golf tournament, and reception.  Interested attendees can register online here

About Roger Rumbaugh
More than half of Roger Rumbaugh’s 40 years of banking experience has been focused in legal and regulatory compliance. Mr. Rumbaugh currently serves as Director of both The West Virginia School of Compliance and the Compliance Forum Program of The Virginia Association of Community Banks, and is now Director of Compliance Services for ICS Compliance.
